Beach Walk 586
Click through for the Hawaiian beach walk podcast.
W00t! The sun is out! Praise be to the weather. Let's face it: kind words and genuine praise just feel good. It is all too common when talented people take on a type of snobbery, as if they have earned some form of superiority.

Turtle Bay
Good post on Turtle Bay on Oahu.
When we decided to go to Hawaii, we weren’t sure which island we wanted to stay on and where we would stay on that island. We had decided that we would either stay on the island of Oahu or Maui. The problem we found with Oahu is that most of the resorts are located on Wakiki beach and are in areas that are considered very “touristy.” This was not the feel that we were going for with our honeymoon - we wanted a more relaxed, quiet feel and to be able to see the natural beauty of Hawaii, not a sea of highrise hotels. This is the feel that is attributed more to the other islands, like Maui. However, many of the attractions that we wanted to be able to visit while we were in Hawaii were located on Oahu, such as Pearl Harbor and the Polynesian Cultural Center. When we found the Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, we found the perfect fit!

The Boys Are Back In Town
If you travel to Hawaii, check out the surfing at Waimea Bay.
Waimea Bay wasn’t really breaking on December 1st, but the best big-wave surfers in the world were assembled on the sand. Propping up mean-looking nine-foot plus pintails and smiling for the cameras, the surfers were brought together for the opening ceremonies of The Quiksilver Big Wave Invitational in Memory of Eddie Aikau. Known simply as ‘The Eddie’, the world’s most prestigious big wave contest is named after Eddie Aikau, the North Shore’s first full-time lifeguard, who earned the permanent guard chair at Waimea with a sterling reputation for his life-saving work. In 1978, the voyaging canoe he was on capsized, leaving him and nine other crew members stranded 12 miles east of Lanai. Aikau paddled off in a heroic attempt to find assistance but, tragically, was never heard from again, despite the most intensive air-sea search in Hawaiian maritime history.

Home Exchange
Want a long trip to Hawaii or other exotic destinations? Consider a house swap. Try craigslist.
In fact, many members like to swap to homes that are very different from their own. Your townhouses in both Anchorage or Hawaii will seem very 'exotic' and therefore, attractive, to many members. If you are fairly open yourself on exchange destinations, you should certainly find interest in both of your condos.

On Vacation in Hawaii
Sometimes when you're on vacation in Hawaii, there's nothing to talk about except being on vacation in Hawaii.
I'm on vacation. In Hawaii. I only mention this because I like to brag about the fact that I'm on vacation. In Hawaii.
So, to recap: I'm on vacation. In Hawaii. And I like to brag about that. I also like to brag about the fact that I'm a smoking hot specimen of male hunkiness. Come to think about it, I just enjoy bragging in general.
Anyway, because I'm on vacation, in Hawaii, this post will be dedicated to my favorite recreational pastime that you, too, can enjoy if you find yourself, like me, on vacation, in Hawaii.
