With Mickey Mouse

travel nwa tail An unhappy Northwest Airlines passenger.

Today we departed from the confused state of Michigan in order to arrive in Orlando, Florida at approximately 8am and after a sleepless night I must admit Northwest Airlines is probably the absolute worst airline company that you can fly without a doubt. Although, this time they managed to get my luggage passed to the correct terminal and airport, the service on the plane was by far the worst i have ever experienced.

I wish I would have done my homework before booking my son's choir on NWA! I organized a group of 58 travelers to go from Pittsburgh to Portland, Oregon to participate in a choral festival and the trip west was ridiculous. So many pilots called in "sick" last weekend that it was a miracle that all of our kids got to Oregon in time for the festival! Our precious children (ages 11 to 14), some of whom had not flown before, ended up flying through Detroit, Seattle, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, etc. before arriving at 3:00 in the morning in Oregon. Instead of 2 groups, they ended up being split into 4. Three of these groups only had one chaperone! Shame on you, Northwest pilots, for using our children as pawns in your effort to pressure the airline into bringing your fellow pilots back from furlough status. If you hadn't gotten "sick", there WOULD have been adequate staffing. And shame on you Northwest management for not having backup pilots to fill in. I just hope and pray that our kids can now get home safely... I'm glad there is still airline choice in the US because I will be choosing more wisely in the future.
