Metra Rail Service Proposal

travel metra rail Milwaukee's Mayor proposal to expand Metra service using Amtrak stations has this taxpayer in arms.

The backers of this are worried that the TPA “could kill the proposed train service by preventing the new Regional Transit Authority from raising money for it.” What this means is that if they are denied the power to raise taxes as much as they want, then they won’t get to play with their trains. I’m sorry. Should I care about their problem? If the trains are a good idea, the TPA allows them to get their money by asking the voters to approve it. Why should I be concerned that they want the unlimited power to tax?
