Southwest: White Knight Or Black Widow?

travel love field southwest airlines The latest from Dallas/Fort Worth on Southwest and American Airlines

A seven-month truce has been declared in the battle over the Wright Amendment. Curiously, this truce was not reached by the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, nor by American and Southwest Airlines. The combatants in this latest skirmish are Members of Congress from the Metroplex and other parts of the U.S. who claim to have an economic interest in the outcome of the Love Field “liberation” battle.

Don't waste your time clicking on the link to Dr. Weinstein's post. He's a paid flack for the DFW Airport Board... funny he neglects to mention that in his crazy, long-winded post.

On second thought, it IS probably worth reading... it's fun to watch a highly educated man tumble through all sorts of tortured logic in a (failed) effort to build a credible case for why monopolies which restrict consumer choice and jack up prices are somehow "good."

I think it's safe to say that the University of Chicago won't be offering Dr. Weinstein a job anytime soon.
