Union Contract
It's true, contracts are not guarantees when the business heads south.
In the first days of the Northwest Airlines strike I heard a union mechanic on TV saying that he distrusts and despises the treatment by NWA management. That seemed like an odd statement to me – if NWA is such a bad place to work, why did they so easily find replacement workers for the striking union members? As the NWA mechanics’ strike continues, we see striking mechanics taking every opportunity they can, even coming to a residential home in suburban Minnesota, to pickett out on the sidewalk and embarrass all those who didn’t live up to their commitment to the union. This will not help their cause.
