Airbus Buying Into The Airlines?

Airplane manufacturers and airlines have a cozy relationship regardless of ownership issues. That's normal in industries with few players and high ticket capital items like planes.

Northwest Airlines (NW), and Continental Airlines (CO), are the two major American carriers to order the 787. With teh 767 fleets operated by Delta (DL), American (AA), US, and UA pushing retirement, the airlines need new airplanes. The next round of 787 v A350 is coming up, with about 30 airlines around the world expected to announce new fleet choices.
