The Travelocity Gnome
I will not have anything bad said about the travelocity gnome. Oops, I'm wrong again.
There's something about those Travelocity "Roaming Gnome" commercials that I just don't understand. The gnome is supposed to be a "denouncer of travel myths", so they always start out with a "myth" that allegedly is disproven by the gnome announcing some great deal you can get on Travelocity. Then the second "myth" the gnome attempts to disprove is always something he's completely wrong about, like jellyfish being "cuddly" or the Mona Lisa "begging to be smooched".
If the gnome is so completely wrong about the other stuff, how are we supposed to trust he knows what he's talking about in regards to Travelocity's deals? I know, it's just an ad campaign... but seriously, somebody didn't think it through.

I booked through Travelocity four times in the
last year. The first three were good experiences.
The last was bad. Why? Well, I booked to travel
between Portland Oregon and Detroit Michigan.
I decided to take out the travel insurance just in case I couldn't travel on the date I'd planned. First don't pay for the travel insurance. I was very sick with a stomach flu the day I was scheduled to travel. In order for them to honor the insurance I would have had to have been hospitalized and I wasn't. To make things worse when I called travelocity I was put on hold. They kept playing a recording about "If you have to change flights it's your problem and they won't do anything for you." I learned a lesson. I checked with the airlines and they told me "If you had bought your ticket from the airline they could have rescheduled my flight."
So, cheap isn't always cheap. I know my fellow travelers if they knew would appreciate that I didn't travel that day.

That thing you don't understand about the commercials is called humor. The fact that you are questioning whether or not to believe in a concrete garden gnome's travel tips versus the advertised travel deals pretty much says it all. Shut off your computer and go outside....and that bright firey thing in the sky is called the sun....don't be scared...it will all be OK.
